Accountancy Fast Track AAT level 2 and level 3 at Leicester College
This Fast Track Diploma is an ideal starting point for anyone wishing to pursue a career in accountancy or finance. You will acquire the core book - keeping skills and knowledge at level 2 to enable you to then move on to complete the advanced diploma all within one academic year. This qualification is suitable for people who are returning to work after a break or anyone wishing to change career and for those young adult high fliers who have just left school. If you are aged 16-18, you will be enrolled on a study programme, which will include retaking GCSEs or undertaking Functional Skills in English and maths if you haven't already achieved a grade 4 or above. You will also be required to complete a work experience placement and an employability programme.
Initially you will be studying Book Keeping Transactions at level 2. Upon successful completion of this you will then move onto the level 3 advanced diploma and will studying units such as Final Accounts, Management Accounting, Indirect Tax, Ethics for Accountants, and Spreadsheets. You will also have Employability Skills sessions and an individual tutorial with the learning coach on a weekly basis.
Standard entry to this course requires one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance. You will need five GCSE grades 4-9 (A-C) including English and maths or equivalent.
All units are examined.
Material fee Â£200.00. You will need to purchase books at the start of the programme at a cost of Â£200. You may be eligible for student support and should contact the College regarding this.
The advanced diploma is a potential stepping stone into employment, university or training. It may suit those students who are currently working in the finance sector and do this as part of the continuing professional development. On completion of the level 3 advanced diploma you can also progress onto the level 4 professional diploma or onto an undergraduate programme at university.
