Business Administration BTEC Award Entry level 3 at Leicester College
This is an entry level programme which will give you the basic knowledge, understanding and skills you need to either prepare for employment/apprenticeship in a business area or enable progression to the level 1 business course in College. It includes a range of units across the business and retail sectors. You will also be able to take part in assessments in our realistic working environment as part of this programme. This is set up as an office environment and gives you the chance to use equipment and gain office skills. If you are aged 16-18, you will be enrolled on a study programme, which will include retaking GCSEs or undertaking Functional Skills in English and maths if you haven't already achieved a grade 4 or above. You will also be required to complete a work experience placement and an employability programme.
Whilst studying on this programme units could include: Working in Business Administration; Communicating Electronically; Welcoming Visitors and Managing Own Learning. There may also be additional units involving retail and travel and tourism. The course will also include Functional Skills English, maths and ICT to enable you to improve your employability skills.
Standard entry to this course requires one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance. No formal qualifications are required. Consideration will be given to all applicants over the age of 19 who do not hold formal English and maths qualifications.
During this course you will be assessed through a variety of methods. You will produce leaflets, posters and short reports and will also be expected to take part in role-plays in our realistic working environment.

Once you have successfully completed this course you will have gained the skills and knowledge which will give you the opportunity to progress onto any level 1 BTEC study programme at the College (for example, business, ICT, or travel and tourism). Alternatively you may choose to enter employment or apply for an apprenticeship. There is career advice available in College.
