Course description

The VTCT Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Beauty Therapy is a vocationally related qualification that will prepare you to gain employment as an advanced senior beauty therapist, as the units contained in this qualification cover all the skills and knowledge required for this role. Entry on to this qualification can be via previous attainment of a beauty therapy qualification at level 3. This is a vocational qualification which builds on beauty therapy skills to allow you to develop an enhanced repertoire of advanced specialist beauty therapy techniques to prepare you for employment as an advanced senior beauty therapist. The advanced techniques covered in the mandatory section of this qualification include: laser and light treatments for hair removal, laser and light treatments for skin rejuvenation, microdermabrasion techniques. You will also gain knowledge and understanding of dermatology and microbiology, physiology of ageing, management of health, safety and security in the salon, quality management of client care and salon management. You will also have the opportunity to further develop your knowledge and skills by selecting from a range of optional units, including: research, IT and data handling, marketing, cultural social and technological influences on beauty-related industries, public relations in the hair and beauty sector.
