Course description

The course is a one year Level 2 course that develops the basic underpinning knowledge of the requirements for entry into uniformed public services. You will study a total of six units during your time at college incorporating both practical and theoretical elements including:Participating in Physical ActivityOutdoor and Adventurous ActivitiesLeading an Outdoor Activity SessionExpedition ExperienceWork ExperienceDevelopment of Personal Fitness through TrainingPlan, deliver and evaluate activity sessionsThis qualification is usually studied alongside GCSE Maths and English

Entry requirements

You will need to meet our standard entry requirements.

You will need at least GCSE English Language and Maths grade D/3.

Assessment

Assessment is through coursework, portfolios and assignments as ongoing assessment. The package offers a well rounded education, which will give an experience of different fields of assessment in preparation to progress onto advanced study on an BTEC Subsidiary Diploma/90 Credit Level 3 course. The qualification grade will be calculated through the accumulation of credits throughout the studied units.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of the course, Students may wish to progress on to the Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma/90 Credit Public Service Diploma.
