A-Level French at East Sussex College

Course description

During this two-year course you will improve your French while boosting your employability prospects with international organisations.

Course content

Over the two years you will be able to get a well-rounded and interesting look into France and its culture. You will broaden your vocabulary, along with the reading, writing, listening and speaking skills you have gained at GCSE, as well as gaining a range of transferable skills, including communication, critical thinking and creativity.

You will study topics including:

  • Lifestyle
  • Relationships
  • Environment
  • The multicultural society
  • Contemporary social issues

You will be well prepared to use the language for practical communication and to continue your studies. French is also a ‘gateway’ to other languages like Spanish, Italian and Portuguese, making them easier to learn.
