Level 2 Diploma Hair and Make-up Artistry at East Sussex College

Course description

During this one-year course you will be able to learn about the art of make-up, everything from the techniques used in applying make-up to environmental sustainability.

Course content

You will learn how to apply make-up, learn about make-up preparation, continuity planning for make-up services, health, safety, and hygiene, and techniques to prepare models for fashion shoots and magazine editorial. You will also learn about anatomy and physiology and develop customer service skills throughout the course.

  • Dress and finish hair services
  • Continuity hair services
  • Anatomy and physiology for make-up artists

Entry requirements

4 GCSE's A*-D or points 4-9 Including English, Maths and science subject or Equivalent Qualification

Assessment

You will be assessed throughout the academic year. You will have two exams and a graded synoptic assessment which will be held at the college but set up by an external examining body.

Financial information

£400 for kit and uniform and an additional £30 for trips

Future opportunities

Once you have successfully completed this course you will be ready to move onto our Level 3 Make-up course. You will also be eligible to become a member of the British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) or Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT).
