OCR Cambridge Technical Level 2 Diploma (Digital Software Practitioner) at Neale-Wade Academy

Course description

All the content of the qualification is mandatory and relates directly to the skills, knowledge and behaviours expected by employers in the IT sector. The areas covered include:

  • Project planning
  • Website design
  • Application design
  • Games design
  • Pitching a product

 

Course content

All students will study the following units:

1 Essentials of IT (Exam)

2 Essentials of Cyber Security (Exam)

3 Creating programming solutions for business (Coursework)

4 Creating websites (Coursework)

5 Creating mobile applications (Coursework)

Assessment

The course consists of 75% Coursework based assessments and 25% Exam.

Future opportunities

OCR Cambridge Level 2 Technicals develop transferable workplace skills, such as good communication and the ability to work in a team, which employers have identified as essential for gaining employment in the sector and for progression once the learner is working.

Achieving this qualification will give learners an advantage when applying for a job in the IT sector. The types of roles in the early year’s settings include:
