Motor Vehicle Maintenance Level 1 at North Kent College

Course description

A competence-based scheme, with some examinations, covering
all aspects of the repair and servicing of road vehicles.

Units include:

Health and Safety
The Vehicle Systems
Welding
Assembling and Dismantling
Auto Electrics

Functional Skills within Industrial Studies

Entry requirements

A Good school report. Minimum 4 GCSEs at Grade D or above, including Maths, English and Science, or equivalent OR Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair - Entry Level and Entry Level 3 in English and Maths. In addition, all students will be interviewed.

Assessment

By practical tests to illustrate competence and by multi-choice examination questions to demonstrate underpinning knowledge. A portfolio of evidence is also needed which requires written statements of support knowledge.
