Course description

Working in today’s challenging and fast-paced IT environment and being able to adapt to the changing world requires you to have a wide range of skills.

If you are looking to embark on a career in IT, then look no further. Our team is made up of highly qualified ICT teachers who are experts in Microsoft software, as well as networking, programming and hardware installation.

Most of our teachers have come from the ICT and business industry and have a wealth of experience to share with you. They are supportive and motivational tutors who will do their best to make your time at with us enjoyable, interesting and an excellent learning experience. They will also support you in finding employment or a university place of your choosing.

Course content

The course is designed to provide highly specialist work-related qualifications in a range of vocational sectors and will give students the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for employment. They also provide career development opportunities and progression to higher education, degree and professional development programmes. Core units: Communication and Employability Skills in IT, Computer Systems, Information Systems. Specialist units may include: Database Skills, Systems Analysis and Design, Website, Production, Software Design, Human Computer Interface, Computer Networks.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs with Grade 4 or above including English and Mathematics.

Future opportunities

If successful, you can progress onto further study at Foundation Degree or Degree level. Some of our previous learners went on to study, IT and Business, Robotics, Computer Science, Software Engineering and Software Systems for Art and Media Degree courses at universities around the country. This course can also lead to ICT employment.
