Beauty Therapy - Level 2 (Diploma) at College of West Anglia

Course description

This course is designed to help you embark on a career in the beauty profession. All relevant aspects of beauty therapy are covered over the year and this leads to the Diploma qualification.Subjects covered include:

  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Health and safety
  • Promoting products and services
  • Salon reception duties
  • Client care and communication
  • Eyelash and brow treatments
  • Facial skin care
  • Waxing techniques
  • Manicure and pedicure treatments
  • Make-up
  • Tanning
  • Head massage

Entry requirements

You will need:

  • 4 or more GCSEs at Grade 3 (D) or higher, preferably including English and Maths
Or:
  • A relevant level 1 qualification
If you are aged 19 or older, relevant experience may be accepted.You will be invited to an interview to help us ensure the course is right for you.

Assessment

There are four types of assessment:

  • Demonstration of practical competence
  • Short assignments
  • Oral questioning
  • Online tests
A portfolio of work is built up during the time spent at college.
