Course description

The Social & Enterprise Activity course will enable you to demonstrate that you have the personal skills, qualities and attitudes needed by employers within the Health and Social Care and Childcare sectors.By developing your skills and confidence, these qualifications can also help you progress to further learning, such as Childhood Studies - Level 2 and Health and Social Care - Level 2.The course is made up of a wide variety of units which include:

  • Working in a team
  • Health and safety at work
  • Planning and running an enterprise activity
  • Preparing for work placement
  • Personal presentation in the workplace

Entry requirements

You will need:

  • 4 or more GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or higher, including English and Maths
  • A relevant Level 1 qualification
Relevant skills and experiences in working with the 5-19 age range may be accepted.


This exciting new course provides learners with the opportunity to develop social awareness and enterprise skills both in and out of the classroom. The course will provide opportunities to experience either work placement or volunteering for a minimum of one day per week supported by other activities such as retail in shops and market stalls.  The intent is to firmly provide the learners with the necessary experiences that will help them gain employment or skills to progress onto a relevant Level 2 course.
