Childcare -(Children and Young peoples Workforce) Apprenticeship (Intermediate) - Level 2 at College of West Anglia

Course description

The course is aimed at people who are employed in a suitable childcare (early years) setting. For example, this could be within a nursery, pre-school or playgroup. Subjects studied will include: helping keep children safe supporting childrens development support childrens play and learning prepare and maintain environments to meet childrens needs.

Entry requirements

An interview is required.  You will be assessed for your potential to achieve the apprenticeship.  The assessment will depend upon the range and level of activities you will be undertaking in the workplace.You may need to undergo an initial assessment of your English and maths skills in which you are required to be working at / towards, at least, Level 1 English and Level 1 Maths.At the start of your apprenticeship programme you will need to be employed by a suitable and appropriate employer for at least 30 hours per week.  You will also need to have been a resident in the EU for at least 3 years and not be on any other government funded training programme.Commitment and motivation are necessary to complete the course.


The course is assessed using a portfolio and work-based assessments.  Functional skills tests to be completed, if necessary.
