AAT Intermediate Accounting Apprenticeship Level 2 at Cambridge Regional College
This is your route to an exciting professional career in finance and accounting. Apprenticeships offer the opportunity for practical experience and training whilst earning a wage and working towards industry-recognised qualifications. This programme is fully funded for 16-18 year olds, and partially funded for the 19+ age group. This Level 2 enhanced vocational programme covers the basics of Accountancy.
This apprenticeship offers an introduction to essential accounting skills and principles, and develops the skills and knowledge needed to work in finance and other accounting-related positions.
Typical roles are Accounts Assistant, Cashier, Credit Control Clerk, Purchase Ledger/ Sales Ledger Clerk. Apprentices will spend time attending classes at the college, typically delivered one day per week.
This Level 2 qualification is for people who wish to start a career in Accountancy. To enrol onto an Apprenticeship, you MUST be employed over 30 hours per week in an Accountants or alternatively within the finance function of an organisation. Please contact us should you need help in finding suitable employment. Apprentices are paid a wage by the employer. Your employer is required to give you a contract of employment, which will include holiday entitlement and all other benefits. Your job should provide you with the opportunities for the Level 2 Accountancy skills and knowledge. Entry onto the L2 Apprenticeship Framework or standard requires 2 x D Grades / 2 x Grade 3 or above in Maths and EnglishWe currently offer pre apprenticeship courses for applicants, in Maths and English, to support learners wishing improve their grades to the entry criteria. Learners should have secured employment.All applicants will be interviewed- this includes maths and English skills scan, and a formal interview
Apprentices are assessed through exams taken after the delivery of each module in order to achieve the AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting.

This programme provides you with a basic qualification and the skills necessary to enable you to work in industry and progress onto the Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Standard.

Students who currently attend a Cambridge Area Partnership school should apply online via UCASprogress.com or by using the Cambridge Area Partnership application form (depending on your school). Please ask your careers teacher at school.
Once we have received your application, you will be invited to attend a college Welcome Event, which gives you and your parents/carers the opportunity to have a look around the College, talk to the tutors and ask any questions you may have.
