Level 3 in Public Services at MidKent College
If you possess the discipline, stamina, motivation and enthusiasm for a career in the public services, then this is the course for you.You will learn all about the work of organisations including the police, military, fire service and more, while also studying such topics as leadership and teamwork, and fitness testing and training.As health and wellbeing is an important part of work in the public services, you will also be expected to take part in sport, exercise and outdoor pursuits.
Five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English and maths at grade C/4 or above.
Successful completion of this course can open the door to a career in a variety of public services, including the police, fire service, military, security industry, prison service or as a paramedic. You may also progress to further study at university to study forensic science, public health and protection, or management. MidKent College offers progression through its HND in Public Services.
> Although the majority of study is theory, the course is designed to be as practical as possible and will include a number of visits and outdoor exercises> You will be assessed through written assignments and practical work, and will also be required to compile a portfolio of evidence> All MidKent College students will continue studying English and maths until they are 19, or until they have achieved a Grade C/4. Your study programme will incorporate a Work Placement of up to 350 hours in a role relevant to your study. All students will have access to a Personal Tutor to support their personal and professional development.
