Level 2 in Sport & Activity Leaders at MidKent College

Course description

>Sprint ever closer to a fast-paced sports career by enrolling onto the Level 2 Technical Diploma for Sport and Activity Leaders. This course is suitable for motivated, self-disciplined students with a keen interest in sport and activity leadership, health and fitness. >Developed in consultation with employers within the sport sector, this course will provide a supportive environment in which to develop transferable technical skills and behaviours that will give you the best opportunity to be successful when applying for work. These skills and behaviours will be developed utilising a range of methods inclusive of; written tasks, portfolio building, two examinations and practical performance. >This is a study programme designed to be as practical as possible although there will be an equal emphasis on theory lessons. You will also be required to further develop your English and Maths skills and complete industry relevant work experience.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade D/3 or above, including English or maths at grade D/3 or above.

Future opportunities

Upon completion of this course you may be able to progress directly to employment within sport and activity leadership, or to an apprenticeship. This qualification also gives a sound basis to progress further to a level 3 qualification such as a Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Sport.

> You will be assessed in a variety of ways, by multiple choice examinations, worksheets, observation by your tutor, practical examination and via a presentation> All MidKent College students will continue studying English and maths until they are 19, or until they have achieved a Grade C/4. Your study programme will incorporate a Work Placement of up to 350 hours in a role relevant to your study. All students will have access to a Personal Tutor to support their personal and professional development.
