Level 3 in Construction & Built Environment at MidKent College

Course description

Set the groundwork for a high-responsibility role in building, civil engineering or building services engineering by enrolling on this level 3 Diploma.

Taught by industry experts using the very latest technology and equipment, the course will provide you with an in-depth understanding of the built environment, building design, site preparation and lots more.

The full two-year qualification is equivalent to three A-levels, so successful completion will help you progress to a higher education course at the College or a degree programme at university.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English and maths at grade C/4 or above.

Future opportunities

Successful completion of the course opens the door to a wide variety of careers including surveying, construction management, civil engineering and lots more.

Many students also go on to study an HND or honours degree, either at MidKent College or at another university.

    • Set in the Oakwood Park complex, MidKent College's Maidstone Campus provides a pleasant learning environment for students. The site houses a range of quality workshops – including those for Bricklaying, Carpentry, Motor Vehicle and Welding – as well as a large learning resource centre, refectory and welcoming social zone.

      In 2012 major redevelopment work costing a total of £25 million started at the Maidstone Campus, with new state-of-the-art facilities expected to be open by December 2013.

      As part of the rebuild MidKent College has purchased the University for the Creative Arts' Maidstone campus, which is also based at Oakwood Park and now houses the majority of the College's higher education courses.
