Level 2 in Art & Graphic Design at MidKent College

Course description

Develop your artistic skills and build a greater understanding of materials, techniques and processes when you enrol on the level 2 Extended Certificate.Taught in a professional, creative environment by a team of experienced lecturers, you will have the opportunity to experiment in a wide range of specialisms including sculpting, photography, design, textiles, digital art and more.You will also gain inspiration from visits to galleries and museums, and have the chance to showcase your own coursework at the department’s end-of-term exhibition.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade D/3 or above, including English or maths at grade D/3 or above.

Future opportunities

Successful completion at Merit or above will enable you to access higher-level courses at the College such as the level 3 Diploma in Art & Design or Media Production. From there you will be just one step away from university or a career within one of the creative industries.

    • Set in the Oakwood Park complex, MidKent College's Maidstone Campus provides a pleasant learning environment for students. The site houses a range of quality workshops – including those for Bricklaying, Carpentry, Motor Vehicle and Welding – as well as a large learning resource centre, refectory and welcoming social zone.

      In 2012 major redevelopment work costing a total of £25 million started at the Maidstone Campus, with new state-of-the-art facilities expected to be open by December 2013.

      As part of the rebuild MidKent College has purchased the University for the Creative Arts' Maidstone campus, which is also based at Oakwood Park and now houses the majority of the College's higher education courses.
