Level 2 in Health & Social Care at MidKent College

Course description

This course will help you learn more about what it means to work in the varied health and social care sector, including residential care and care of the elderly or disabled.You will focus on gaining the skills and knowledge required in practice, including communication and individual needs in health and social care.You will also be required to carry out work experience in a relevant setting.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade D/3 or above, including English or maths at grade D/3 or above.

Future opportunities

Successful completion of this course could lead to further study at level 3. You could also progress straight into employment at a junior level or onto an apprenticeship.

    • Set in the Oakwood Park complex, MidKent College's Maidstone Campus provides a pleasant learning environment for students. The site houses a range of quality workshops – including those for Bricklaying, Carpentry, Motor Vehicle and Welding – as well as a large learning resource centre, refectory and welcoming social zone.

      In 2012 major redevelopment work costing a total of £25 million started at the Maidstone Campus, with new state-of-the-art facilities expected to be open by December 2013.

      As part of the rebuild MidKent College has purchased the University for the Creative Arts' Maidstone campus, which is also based at Oakwood Park and now houses the majority of the College's higher education courses.
