Level 1 Certificate in Vehicle Maintenance Systems at West Kent College

Course description

The course is made up of core and optional units that make up credits for the qualification and prepare you to progress to a higher level vehicle maintenance and repair course.

You will learn through both theory and practical motor vehicle sessions. There will be practical assessments.

Supported work experience will be arranged with your tutor.

English and maths are an important part of the course, whether at functional skills or GCSE level.

Entry requirements

You will need four GCSEs at Grades D-G/3-1, including English and maths at minimum Grade E/2.

Initial assessments in English, maths and ICT showing working at or towards level 1.

You should have an enthusiasm for Motorsport and a desire for a career in the industry.

Future opportunities

Progress on to Level 2 Certificate or Diploma in
Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Motorsport), Intermediate Apprenticeship or other relevant qualification.
