ESOL Study Programme at Broadstairs College

Course description

You will develop skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening, and grammar. Various activities will be used to develop your English skills and vocabulary, such as working with other students in pairs or groups.

Entry requirements

The Study Programme is for students aged 16-19. You must be over 16 and under 19 on 31st August. There are no formal qualifications required but you will need to come for an assessment where your level will be decided.

Assessment

Assessment for the award is done by means of written assignments carried out under controlled conditions. These will include interviews for the speaking and listening awards.

Future opportunities

On successful completion, you will be ready to apply for jobs or continue with further education or training. We will support you with your progression with information, guidance and advice. On successful completion you could be ready to join one of our full-time courses and many of our ESOL students will progress on to a range of courses including Motor Vehicle, Construction, Catering, Hair and Beauty, Childcare and Health and Social Care.
