Bricklaying Diploma Level 2 at Canterbury College
This course will provide you with the necessary skills to follow a career path in brickwork. It will allow you to develop your knowledge and skills, and improve your job prospects in the bricklaying trade.
You will learn how to build basic structures such as straight walls, corners, piers and archways, and understand how to interpret plans and regulations. The course also covers managing client expectations.You will cover the following topics: efficiency in the workplace, health and safety, loading and unloading materials, preparing materials for mixing, calculating materials, building brick walls, and functional skills.
4 Ds or 3s including English and Maths or a relevant full Level 1.
You will complete a personal portfolio, take online tests and carry out observed practical tasks.
This can lead to other qualifications such as the BTEC National Certificate or Level 3 Diploma in Construction. With further training, you could go into a construction job such as becoming a site manager or building surveyor. Other possibilities are becoming an Apprentice in construction site supervision, plastering or surveying.
