BTEC National Foundation Diploma in Applied Science Level 3 Year 1 at Canterbury College
This course will develop your understanding of science, giving you an insight into the practical applications of science in the workplace. It will cover aspects of the three main sciences, but focuses more on biology and chemistry. This course is equivalent to three A Levels.
You will learn a wide range of skills and knowledge related to medical professions. This includes fundamentals of science, working in the science industry, scientific investigations, scientific practical techniques, perceptions of science, and using mathematical tools in science. You may also study genetics and genetic engineering, human physiology, chemical laboratory techniques, electric circuits, human regulation and reproduction, and biochemistry techniques.
4 Cs or 4s including Level 5 English, maths and science or a relevant full Level 2.
You will do a mix of practical coursework, presentations and assignments, and put together a portfolio of your work with exams in fundamental aspects of science.
This can lead to a science-related job or a Higher Education (degree-level) course in Biological Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Biochemistry, Chemical Analysis, Engineering, Meteorology, Science Journalism, Analytical Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or Dietetics.
