Business Double or Single Award (BTEC) (Hayesbrook Collaboration) at Hillview School for Girls
These are exciting courses which will give you a background into the world of business and will provide plenty of opportunities to look at business first hand. This pathway is a vocational based approach to learning with emphasis on practical based activities underpinned by core business theories.
The National Extended Certificate (Single option – one A Level) will include 4 units of which 3 are mandatory and 2 are externally examined. The externally examined units are: Developing a Marketing Campaign and Personal and Business Finance. These units are mandatory along with another unit called ‘Exploring Business’. The students will then study an optional coursework based unit which could include: Recruitment and Selection Process, Investigating Customer Service, Market Research, The English Legal System and Work Experience in Business.
The National Diploma (Double option – Two A Levels) will include 8 units of which 6 are mandatory and 3 are externally examined. The externally examined units are: Developing a Marketing Campaign, Personal and Business Finance and Principles of Management. Other mandatory units which will be coursework based will include: Exploring Business, Managing an Event and International Business.
Other optional units on offer to study are: Recruitment and Selection Process, Investigating Customer Service, Market Research, The English Legal System and Work Experience in Business.
General entry minimum requirements to study three Level 3 qualifications for Hillview Sixth Form are Grade 4 in both English and Maths together with 3 other GCSE grades at Grade 4 or above (A*-C).
