For those wanting to prepare for a career as a make-up artist in television, fashion, make-up consultancy, or self employment.

  • shampoo and condition the hair and scalp
  • plaiting and twisting hair
  • art of colouring hair
  • create an image based on a hair and beauty theme
  • themed face paint
  • body art
  • provide eyelash and brow treatment

  • maths and English

Entry requirements

  • GCSEs at grade three/grade D in maths and English, or
  • Hair and Beauty Level 1 Diploma plus maths and English at level one, or equivalent
  • successful attendance at interview event
  • you will be required to purchase salon wear, equipment kit, textbooks and consumables

    • September 2014 sees the grand unveiling of a new £45 million Thurrock Campus in Grays which will include restaurants, health facilities, shops and an advice centre. There will also be specialist workshop and studio spaces linked to courses for technology, media and creative arts, and facilities for art, design, logistics, engineering and IT courses.
