A broad introduction to the Health and Social Care and Early Years sector, equipping learners with underpinning knowledge and skills specific to the sector alongside a range of transferable employability skills. This course is designed to support progression to further learning and ultimately to work in health and social care, early years or other related sectors.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs grade E-G (2 or 1) including - Functional Skills English and maths Entry 3 or GCSE Grade 1 or 2

Assessment

Assessment will be undertaken through a range of assignments, group work and simulations, observations, demonstrating work skills, work experience and social action opportunities.

Future opportunities

Completion of this level 1 course could lead directly to an Apprenticeship in Health & Social Care or Childcare or progression on to a specialist course of Childcare or Health and Social Care at level 2.
