Course description

This extensive business qualification provides insight in to a wide range of careers within the business industry. You will explore the business environment looking at the way businesses operate and why, whilst also developing knowledge of digital marketing, human resources, finance, corporate communication, retailing and event management. You will also learn how to start your own business and lead your team effectively to achieve organisational success.

Course content

The second year of the qualification provides additional insight in to areas such as visual display, recruitment, fashion, law, project management and logistics.You will have the opportunity to visit various organisations to enhance your learning and put skills in to practice. Visits can include Wembley Stadium, London?s Event Confex and Office Show, London Fashion Week, Stansted Airport, Bank of England, Criminal Law Courts, Thorpe Park and Cruise visits. You will also have industry specialists host educational workshops in topics such as crowd safety, business ownership, BREXIT, event management and entrepreneurship.

Entry requirements

4 Cs or 4s including English and maths or a level 2 in Business with at least a merit grade.


A portfolio of internally and externally assessed written assignments, practical activities/events, observations, presentations and mood boards.

Future opportunities

Successful completion of the course may allow progression to a career in business or retail, higher education foundation degree, HND or entry onto an Advanced Apprenticeship in a wide range of business sectors.
