Patisserie & Bakery Technical Qualification Diploma 2 at The Manchester College

Course description

If you have a passion for baking or already work in hospitality and want to develop your skills in patisserie and artisanal baking then this course is for you. 
The course will give you the skills to create desserts, patisseries, work with chocolate, learn the techniques of artisanal baking, as well as help develop your skills beyond the kitchen in planning, preparation, calculating costs and health and safety.

Entry requirements

You’ll need to have a Level 1 in Professional cookery or experience working in the hospitality and catering sector. The main thing required is a passion for baking.


You’ll be assessed through a variety of practical and written assessments giving you the opportunity to demonstrate the skills you have developed.

Financial information

Future opportunities

Once you’ve completed this Level 2 course you’ll have the opportunity to progress onto a Level 3 qualification in either Advanced Professional Cookery or Professional Patisserie and Confectionery, or move into work in the hospitality industry.
All these skills will help you to excel in a career in the hospitality and catering industry. You may find yourself working in hotels and restaurants, or even running your own professional kitchen

Behind Fielden Campus is the Mersey Valley nature reserve, a riverside walk through miles of beautiful countryside and parkland.
