This is a one year full time programme.You will sit an online exam for the units of Health & Safety and Engineering Principles.Other units are assessed via a range of practical tasks and written assessmentsYou will learn through a variety of methods which will aim to meet the needs of each individual and accommodate different learning styles for example, practical work, assessments, group work and interactive activities

Course content

'This is a work related course that is designed to enable learners to develop their practical skills and knowledge in a mechanical and manufacturing engineering environment through a range of challenging units.The course covers the following units:• Health & Safety• Engineering Principles• Principles of Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering• Computer Aided Draughting• CNC Machining of Materials • Detailed Fitting of Materials

Entry requirements

'Learners must have:• Five GCSE’s grade 9 to 4 that include English and Maths or • Successfully completed a Level 2 Engineering qualification

Future opportunities

'• Apprenticeship or gain a job within the industry.• HNC and HND (level 4 & 5) in Engineering (Note: A Bridging unit of Maths and Science at Level 3 or C & G unit 331 is required in addition to the completion of this course)
