Engineering Extended Diploma 3 at The Manchester College

Course description

Throughout this extended diploma students will explore a diverse range of engineering disciplines including key principles, delivery of the engineering processes, CAD for Engineering, Engineering product design and manufacture and more. Students who complete this qualification will have a strong understanding of the fundamentals of engineering to help them to progress into engineering related subjects at a degree or apprenticeship level.  

Entry requirements

Applicants will need have five GCSE’s at a Grade 4 or above including English, maths and science. 

Assessment

Assessments for this qualification are made up of a variety of assignments, presentations and exams including some external assessments.

Financial information

Future opportunities

With this qualification students can progress into a relevant higher education or higher level apprenticeship. Students may eventually progress into roles including electronic, railway, mechanical or civil engineering.

      Openshaw is a suburb of east Manchester, a short bus ride from Manchester’s city centre. Openshaw Campus is built at the heart of the community with an open plan design and attractive green space and water features. Sportcity and the City of Manchester Stadium are close to the campus. Sportcity has a number of sports venues and fitness and sports facilities for the public. There is a 14-screen cinema five minutes away by car or 25 minutes on foot.
