Computer Games Skills Diploma Level 1 at Leeds City College
This course is an opportunity for you to explore some of the fundamental areas of games design. By the end of the course, you will have the skills to design both 2D and 3D objects and use a games engine.
You will develop your ideas through professional practice whilst acquiring both traditional and digital design-based skills. In addition, you will work towards producing appealing and exciting computer game products. Upon completing the course, you will gain a level 1 qualification with the option to progress on to the level 2 games design course.
- Media Production Skills - record videos and audio to a suitable standard and plan a media product
- Game Engines 3D
- Digital 3D Modelling - developing 3D assets
- Comic Book - illustrate and compile comics
- Digital Graphics - digital software to manipulate graphics
- Employability Skills - Assessing own personal, learning and thinking skills
3 F's at GCSE or equivalent. If you are studying the new GCSE framework we require three 1's. However if you are worried you may not meet the above requirements you must demonstrate an interest in the subject.
Students should have a genuine interest in games design, a commitment to completing set work at home and in class time. Independent study and meeting deadlines will also be required.
By completing assignment work, observations, witness statements, portfolio work and producing digital games work.
16 - 18: no fee. 19+ £1,109 (19+ fee subject to change)
After completing this course, you will be able to move on to our Level 2 Computer Games course, apprenticeship or employment.
You will develop your IT skills, along with communication and employability skills.
