Course description

Criminology is the study of crime, reasons why people commit crime, the criminal justice system and the procedures involved in punishing criminals.

Course content

The course is a qualification with elements of psychology, law and sociology that compliments studies in humanities, science and social science.  Units include:

  1. Changing awareness of crime
  2. Crimonological Theories
  3. Crime Scence to Courtroom
  4. Crime and Punishment

Each unit within the qualification has an applied purpose which acts as a focus for the learning in the unit.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade 4-9 (A*-C) including English + Maths

Assessment

The Diploma in Criminology is assessed using a combination of internal and external assessment.

Financial information

Everything you must have to undertake the course will be provided by College.  You may have to pay for extras such as trips/visits.
