Cyber Security Technologist Higher at Baltic Training

Course description

The primary role of a Cyber Security Technologist is to apply an understanding of cyber threats, hazards, risks, controls, measures and mitigations to protect organisations systems and people. All those in this occupation work to achieve required security outcomes in a legal and regulatory context in all parts of the economy. They develop and apply practical knowledge of information security to deliver solutions that fulfil an organisation’s requirements.  They will work on areas such as security design & architecture, security testing, investigations & response.

This programme is at Level 4.

  • Information Security Assurance & ThreatAnalyst

Course Content: 

  • Cyber Security Introduction
  • Network & Digital Communications Theory
  • Security Technology Building Blocks
  • Security Case Development and Design Good Practice
  • Employment of Cryptography

You will also complete an End Point Assessment (EPA) which includes: External Assessment, Synoptic Project, and Interview.

The training is delivered using a variety of methods, including Online Live, workshops and self study. Apprentices will receive assessor contact every 6 weeks which will be a full progress review, we encourage all managers and mentors to participate in this progress review.

Towards the end of the apprenticeship the assessor will provide final contact sessions to prepare you for EPA. Courses will run typically every 10-12 weeks, and the order of the modules can be subject to change.

The exams associated with the apprenticeship will be delivered in the nearest test centre.
