Welcome to Kingsthorpe College
Kingsthorpe College is a mixed comprehensive school in the northern part of Northampton and caters for students aged 11-18 years of age. The college achieved Sports Specialist College status in 2007.
Kingsthorpe College is a centre of learning and achievement. We specialise in the field of sport and physical education but our commitment to providing the best in teaching and learning is across the curriculum.
Our focus on learning is supported by clear pastoral and academic support to meet the needs of the young people aged 11-18 that we serve.
What makes us different?
We provide a wide range of subjects at different levels so students can choose the course most suited to them to reach their potential.
To study for A levels you are expected to achieve at least 5 A* to C grades at GCSE. Certain subjects do require more, for example Maths.
To study on our Level 2 programme you are expected to achieve predominantly Ds at GCSE.
To follow our Level 1 programme you are expected to achieve Es and Fs at GCSE.

We have a range of support in place to help our students achieve both whilst at school and in the future, whether you intend to go to university or enter the world of work. All students are placed in a tutor group which meets twice daily. We have regular progress checks and reports as well as review and information evenings to help you suceed.
