Welcome to Northampton Academy
Thank you for visiting our website and I am delighted to welcome you to Northampton Academy.
We are proud to be part of United Learning, a group of academics, primaries and independent schools who work by the motto ‘The Best for Everyone’, and we wholeheartedly subscribe to this philosophy.
Here at Northampton Academy, we live and breathe our three core values:
- RESPECT – showing consideration for the views, opinions and beliefs of others
- DETERMINATION – never giving up
- AMBITION – aiming high; not just for what you want to be, but also for who you wish to be
Northampton Academy is a welcoming and inclusive 11-18 school on the eastern side of Northampton. Every year group is full or oversubscribed and our highly academic Sixth Form received record applications this year. This is, in part, due to our academic success.
Last year we were the number one school in Northampton for the Government's Progress 8 measure. At A Level we scored ALPS 3 (with 1 being the highest and 9 being the lowest), which places us amongst the top post 16 providers in the country for progress. We continue to achieve particularly good university destinations for our Year 13 leavers, with a high proportion of this year’s students attending the very best Russell Group Universities.
Northampton Academy has an excellent and growing enrichment programme in which students are actively encouraged to participate, we promise to give every student at least one leadership opportunity each year both through extra curricular activities and within
lessons. This promise will be displayed on a plaque in our main reception area in September. We are also be working on our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) programme towards our Academy vision:
“To be an Academy of character and excellence. To provide a unique and extraordinary experience that sets us apart: locally, nationally and internationally.”
We continue our journey to clearly communicate and embed our core values or Respect, Determination and Ambition - so that we can maintain our already high standards of integrity, discipline and belief. Our students are expected to wear their uniform with pride and be excellent ambassadors for Northampton Academy in the local community and beyond.
Northampton Academy is a wonderful school, with a diversity and vibrancy that is greater than any other school I have experienced. I wholeheartedly commend Northampton Academy as we continue to achieve ‘The Best for Everyone’.
