CTS Training are a government funded training provider, our service is 100% FREE to eligible candidates due to funding from Skills Funding Agency.

About Apprenticeships;

No College!            No night classes!           Your Assessor comes out to you at work!

We are able to offer 'on the job training' to candidates between the ages of 16-24 years.

If you have finished school with grade C’s or above in core subjects and are ready to look for work, we can assist you in seeking Apprenticeship vacancies. Our team will offer advice and support throughout the recruitment process.

If you are successful in finding a position within an organisation or already have a position lined up for when you leave school, CTS Training offer the following NVQ frameworks

  • Business Administration                                      Level 2 and 3
  • Customer Service                                                  Level 2 and 3
  • Retail Operations                                                   Level 2 and 3
  • Sales & Telesales                                                  Level 2 and 3
  • Storage and Warehousing                                    Level 2
  • Health & Social Care                                              Level 2 and 3
  • Children & young person’s workforce                 Level 2 and 3
  • Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools     Level 2 and 3
  • Employment Related Services                             Level 3
  • Team Leading                                                          Level 2
  • Management                                                            Level 3

What to expect;

  • 16-18 Apprentices are eligible to work between 30-40hours per week
  • Apprentices may earn a minimum of £2.65 per hour (around £100 per week)
  • You will be visited by your assessor on a monthly basis and will receive extra 1-2-1 training and support if required
  • These visits are held in the workplace, so No College! No Night classes!
  • Assessed through a variety of methods; from observations, knowledge questions, professional discussions and witness testimonies
  • You will produce a portfolio of evidence on units selected specifically to fit your job role
  • You will have the opportunity to complete Functional Skills in Numeracy, Literacy and ICT

At the end of your Apprenticeship, you will be qualified to your chosen level (2 or 3) and have 12months invaluable experience in your chosen sector. Apprentices often progress in to permanent employment with the employer dependent on your performance throughout.

About Foundation Learning; 

If you are not yet ready to access an apprenticeship and feel you need to improve your qualifications, skills and confidence... we are able to offer the opportunity to train on our Foundation Learning Programme before looking for an apprenticeship.

Foundation Learning is for 16-19 year olds and is designed to provide you with the qualifications and skills needed to progress into further education, apprenticeships or employment. 

The programme can last up to 52 weeks and you will get the opportunity to develop your vocational skills through work experience alongside gaining nationally recognised qualifications up to Level 2.  We have delivery sites in Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster and they are all centrally based.

We work closely with other providers such as Dimensions (hairdressing) and The Source (retail) as well as with employers across the region that can provide you with valuable work experience.  Our award winning City Stewardship Programme provides you with the opportunity to gain real life experience in the construction industry alongside gaining qualifications. There is also the opportunity to gain part time employment with Kier of up to £120 per month.

All learners on our Foundation Programme can apply for the *16-19 Bursary Fund which can provide financial assistance towards attending the programme.*subject to available funds

Facilities available

Foundation Learning:

An excellent place to work and learn using, interactive whiteboards, touch screens with very supportive tutors/assessors. We are city centre based so we're easily accessible by bus, tram or train.

We often arrange trips and visits to places of interest as well as participating in football tournaments and other sporting events.

Additional support

Our dedicated support officer is here to offer you support on a wide range of issues from: housing, drugs, sexual health, court appearances to Bursary Fund.
