Welcome to Longley Park Sixth Form College

Welcome to Longley Park Sixth Form College! We are proud to be the only Sixth Form College in Sheffield. As a Sixth Form College we are relatively small which means that we are big enough to be able to offer a wide choice of courses and additional opportunities, and small enough to make sure that everyone receives the individual support that they need to achieve the best possible results. We want to be a stepping stone between school and your future career at university or in employment. Whatever your goals, we will help you achieve them.

Since we opened in 2004, thousands of our students have gone on to study at University, including some of the most prestigious Higher Education destinations in the country. Longley Park students have progressed to Oxford, Cambridge, Kings College, Medical and Dental Schools and Goldsmiths College of Art.

In August 2017, the College became part of the Brigantia Learning Trust. This is an exciting time as it will allow us to share expertise and resources and continue to provide exceptional education for the young people in North East Sheffield.

So why not take a look at the course information on this website and come along to one of our Open Events taking place throughout the year. We look forward to meeting you soon!

About us

At Longley Park Sixth Form College, we specialise in courses for 16-18 year olds and our staff team are dedicated to providing the best possible support to help students to stretch their potential. We offer a wide range of A Levels, as well as Level 3 courses for students who want to specialise in one particular subject area, such as IT, Childcare or Art and Design. We also have courses at Level 1 and Level 2. Whatever your level, you will find the help and support you need.

We understand that our students are ambitious and all teachers and staff at the College are committed to ensuring that everyone achieves the best possible result. This means that we expect you to work hard, but we will also make sure that you get individual advice and support. For students aiming for the highest grades we have a year-round programme of masterclasses and events. The Extended Project Qualification is also a great opportunity to develop the independent research and study skills needed for higher education. The EPQ is a Level 3, research driven course that top end students take alongside their main areas of study. It is a one year course that is usually taken spanning the first and second year of study. Top universities are really keen to see students achieve the qualification.

We want to make sure that Longley Park students have as many advantages as possible when it comes to applying for work, apprenticeships and university places. As well as achieving excellent results in your chosen subjects we will also work with you to develop your skills and experience. From work experience and volunteering to help and support getting that vital first part-time job, we will help you to build up your CV during your time at College. Students can apply to become a Student Ambassador or Community Ambassador and earn a real wage whilst studying. We also have outstanding links with employers and universities.
