About us

As one of the largest Further Education colleges in the country, we offer a wide range of career-focussed courses and services in fantastic facilities. The David Hockney Building, our award winning city centre campus, opened its doors to students in September 2014 and the brand new Advanced Technology Centre, specialising in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) subjects, welcomed students for the first time in September 2015. These new buildings complement our eco-friendly Trinity Green Campus and position us as one of the leading colleges in the UK.

The Government’s Ofsted inspection report following our last full inspection in September 2014 judged the College to be ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ features. Ofsted inspectors graded the areas of ‘Health & Social Care’, ‘Early Years and Playwork’ and ‘English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)’ as ‘Grade 1 Outstanding’.

Our courses are career-focussed and our priority is to give you the edge when it comes to employment by equipping you with the skills and knowledge required by today’s employers. Most of our courses have links with industry and many include placements offering you a taste of real work experience.

If sitting in a classroom is not for you, we offer a wide range of vocational courses that will prepare you for specific trades, crafts and careers.

Bradford College offers an excellent stepping-stone between school and employment, and we are committed to providing you with a quality learning experience, where you will be treated like an adult. All our courses have been developed with employment in mind so that you can go further in life and work.

Facilities available

Whilst you are a student at the College, you will have access to superb facilities in our eco-friendly David Hockney Building. These include modern classrooms, workshops, lecture theatres and well-equipped learning resources. We have the latest computers and limitless free wifi and breakout areas where you can relax and socialise.

Our Catering & Hospitality and Beauty Therapy & Hairdressing students run commercial businesses in The David Hockney Building which, as a student, you will be able to use. These include ‘The Grove’ Restaurant, Café Bars, Nail, Hair & Beauty Salons and a Spa all of which offer high quality at affordable prices.

We provide excellent sports and fitness facilities including a well-equipped gym in our Trinity Green campus which also houses the award winning Boxing Academy which is run jointly between the College and the Police Community Clubs of Great Britain and is backed by England Boxing, the governing body of amateur boxing clubs in England.

We have an active Students' Union of which, as a student, you will automatically become a member. In 2013, we were proud to accept the Further Education Students’ Union of the Year at the National Union of Students Awards and in 2014, we won the accolade for Campaign of the Year.

Please note: You can opt out of membership of the Students’ Union without suffering any unfair disadvantage).

In addition, we have an excellent Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle) through which you can send messages to your tutor, submit assignments, download resources, communicate with your peers and access ebooks online. We offer multi-faith prayer/quiet rooms and, should you require it, you will have access to our confidential one-to-one Counselling Service.
