Welcome to Mosslands School - A Technology College
The sixth form at The Mosslands School currently numbers around 200 students and has gained a reputation for its academic and vocational success and for its supportive atmosphere. In recent years students have gained places at Universities all over the country including Oxford.
Every year we are happy to welcome girls into the sixth form and there are currently a number of female students studying a variety of courses.
We offer a wide range of AS, A level and vocational courses and we are proud of our good level of achievement and of the atmosphere in our sixth form. We require our entrants for AS and A level courses to have five grade Bs or better at GCSE and to have five grade Cs for entry onto L3 Applied courses. Requirements for vocational courses are detailed elsewhere on this site and in our Sixth Form Prospectus. We also have clear expectations regarding progress, attendance and appearance, all of which contribute to the character of our sixth form.
The Mosslands School has Technology College Status and enjoys enhanced facilities and curriculum. It is a boys’ comprehensive school which accepts girls into the sixth form. We are a major participant in the Wallasey Schools' Consortium which enables us to offer a range of one year vocational courses. Support and guidance are particularly strong. Another strength is the friendly atmosphere in the sixth form with mutual support between students and between students and staff which contributes significantly to student well-being and success.
A recently extended sixth form centre offers study facilities, teaching areas, common room, games room and an air-conditioned computer facility. The school has two sports halls, a spacious modern library and fourteen laboratories. Facilities exist for music and drama and ICT and DT are particularly well equipped.
- Spacious well equipped Resource Centre offering a quiet, social area for independent study and research.
- Air conditioned Sixth Form Computer Suite.
- New Sports Hall and fully equipped gymnasium fitted with the latest cardiovascular and muscular Powersport equipment.
Guidance is available from the Head of Sixth Form and his Deputy as well as from the school’s Career Connect adviser. The Mosslands School has very strong network of support in place for all its students and we take pride in the level and support and guidance we are able to provide.
