Additional support

Initial Interview

When you attend for an initial look around our centre, you will be given detailed information about the course(s) you are interested in, shown the area(s) and have a discussion regarding what you would like to do with us, in order to ensure we best meet your needs.

On your first day, you will be given an induction where you will be advised on the health and safety regulations and discuss what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.  You will be asked to complete a literacy, numeracy and an ICT assessment, so that we can make sure we are working with you at the right level.

Learning & Development Plan

This plan will be completed with yourself and the Unit Manager, in order to set your long and short term targets, in order to ensure you complete your qualification(s) within the time set.  The plan will also discuss any support you may wish us to help you with whilst you are training with us.

You and your tutor will complete a review each month, to look at how far you have progressed with your qualification and set targets to work towards for the next month.  This will be a chance for your tutor to dicuss your achievements with you and for you to talk about how you are finding your training.

Safeguarding Young People

Bridge Training ensures that we offer a safe environment for our learners.  We have a designated safeguarding officer as part of the team, who can respond to any learner in need, and access support from other agencies if appropriate.

Advice & Guidance

We have a professionally trained Advice and Guidance member of staff on site, who can help provide a variety of support on topics such as housing, cv writing, employment advice, college application support, CAF assessments, referrals to emergency housing support/counselling agencies, and much more.

Discretionary Learner Support Fund

We can offer  assistance to learners in financial difficulty.  The level of assistance is determined by an assessment,  which is completed with a trained professional
