The College continues to go from strength to strength with an increasing number of courses and Apprenticeships and an ever growing number of students. College life is not all about study, of course. Many of our students make life-long friends, and take the opportunity to participate in the life of the college through our extensive range of activities and sports teams. We have numerous sports teams which compete at county, national and international levels, and a wide range of enrichment programmes. Singing, photography, sports, dance and reading clubs are among the activities which take place each term, mostly over lunchtimes. CRC has an active Students' Union dedicated to the interests of students in the college.
We have great facilities, thanks to an extensive development programme. We have purpose-built art and design studios, magnificent motor vehicle workshop, fantastic hair and beauty salons, state-of-the-art catering kitchens and much, much more to encourage learning and nurture success.
We are here to help and support you make the most of your time at college. Our staff can provide information, advice and guidance on a wide range of topics. Out students Services Hubs at our Cambridge and Huntingdon campuses provide a centralised service to offer support on Accommodation, Careers and Higher Education, Course Information, Apprenticeships Advice, Financial Assistance, Health and Welfare or anything else that is of concern to you.
The college continues to offer oustanding support to students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Students with specific learning difficulties, such as Dyslexia and Dyscalculia, can receive support from specialist staff who are not only familiar with their specific learning needs, but also with their curriculum.
Personal Support is provided by specialist staff who are trained to work with students with a range of sensory, physical and other access needs and support is tailored to the specific needs of the individual.
A fantastic 95% of our students progress to further education, university or employment. We are proud to be the top further education college in the country for 16-18 student achievement at Level 3. We work with over 1450 leading employers who employ and support our Apprentices.
We will give you the right skills to find the job that’s right for you. Our excellent vocational training covers a wide range of subjects to prepare you for jobs in many industries.
If you are thinking about going to university after studying at CRC, we will keep you well-informed about the courses on offer, help you with your UCAS application and offer you practice in interview techniques. Our students have gone on to some of the most prestigious institutions across the country.
At CRC, we will help you to develop your skills and knowledge, so if you want to follow a career in catering, you can. If you fancy setting up a business in vehicle repair and servicing, we’ll give you the skills to do it, both from a practical and management perspective. If you want to learn about childcare, we’ll not only teach you, we’ll ensure you receive valuable work experience with local employers so you get a real feel for working with children.
We want you to succeed to the best of your ability, so we’ll provide a programme of study to meet your specific needs and aspirations, carefully monitor your progress and provide the support you need for success. Many of our students compete in regional and national competitions and bring back top prizes.
Most importantly, our students tell us they greatly enjoy studying at CRC and this helps them to achieve.
