Welcome to Hills Road Sixth Form College

Welcome to Hills Road!

I am incredibly proud of the fantastic staff and students of Hills Road who together make this an exceptional place to study, to learn and to grow. Combined with the first class facilities and specialist post-16 campus environment, we are really confident that you will enjoy your time here.

The sixth form years are transformative as you make the transition from childhood to adulthood and, as a specialist Sixth Form College, our total focus is on helping you make that transition a successful one. As you’ll see from the information in our prospectus, Hills Road students not only achieve the best Sixth Form College results nationally, but also go on to out-perform students from all other types of schools and colleges once at university. This is a stunning achievement and comes about through the careful emphasis we place on equipping our students to be effective independent learners. We want our students to be curious about the world and ready to take their place in it.

Hills Road is a busy, vibrant, exciting community of young people who want to make a difference: it’s very much a half-way house between school and university or school and the world of work. The College is rich in student societies, clubs and activities from archery and DJ skills to fashion photography and golf and is also a place for animated debate and discussion amongst the range of student interest groups. Whatever your passion, there will be someone here who shares it!

This is a College of opportunity: we hold high expectations for ourselves and for our students because we want you to have every opportunity to be the best version of yourself at the end of your time with us.

We look forward to starting that first step on your journey at our Open Evenings on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th November and, wherever you choose to continue your learning post-16, may I wish you every happiness and success.
