Welcome to Walsall College
Welcome to Walsall College - one of the most successful colleges in the country, a place to develop the skills employers want by becoming job-ready and getting the qualifications you need to progress to higher education.
By joining us you will belong to the only FE college in the Black Country to be rated outstanding by Ofsted*: outstanding for teaching and learning; outstanding for state-of-the-art facilities; and outstanding for our success rates.
In this prospectus you will find information about our wide range of full time courses and apprenticeships, and the careers our vocational qualifications can lead you to.
If you’re aiming for university then you’re in the right place, as over 500 of our full time students go onto a university each year, including to some of the country’s top institutions. Many students also choose to stay here to study for a degree and benefit from smaller class sizes, more one-to-one support and significantly lower costs than compared to university.
As well as benefiting from outstanding academic opportunities, you can take part in extra-curricular activities - from national competitions, volunteering at events to working on live industry briefs, which will put you one step ahead of the competition when you apply for a job or university place. Walsall College is also the place to make friends and our lively Students’ Union will help you settle into life here. We are not just outstanding; we are an exciting and safe place to study, a place where everyone is welcomed and supported in reaching their full potential. That’s why more than 97% of our students would recommend us and why employers have high praise for our students.
We are constantly investing in our facilities to ensure students get the most out of college life. This year we opened ‘The Hub’ - a stunning new £11m business and sports centre with it’s own gym and restaurant that are open to you and the whole community, and if you have the next ‘big idea’ you’ll find all the support you need in our business start-up centre to help turn your idea into a reality! We also invested over £500,000 in two new engineering and manufacturing workshops and £300,000 in the latest IT equipment for students.
We hope you find the course you are looking for. You have a lot of work ahead but we will support you every step of the way. It’s why we are looking forward to welcoming you - we can’t wait to help you achieve your potential at Walsall College.
