Welcome to The Coleshill School
Welcome to The Coleshill School, a Mathematics and Computing Specialist College. Our Sixth Form Centre has a well-established record and offers a challenging, broad academic curriculum which meets all our students' needs.
The ethos of the Sixth Form encourages the development of confident, responsible, highly motivated, independent students. The Sixth Form plays a major part in the success of the school as a whole and is housed in its own block with its own common room, teaching rooms, study room and ICT facilities. We are proud of our students and their active participation in the local community life.
Mr M Rhatigan - Headteacher
Mrs C Reid - Executive Headteacher
Miss K Skipper - Assistant Headteacher i/c Post Sixteen
Miss E Bowes - Pastoral Leader Year 12 and 13
Dr A Watkins - Senior Sixth Form Tutor

The school ensures all its sixth form students have access to a wide range of courses which are personalised to suit their individual needs and future career plans. Of all the Sixth Form providers in the local area we are consistently one of the highest achievers, a record that we are very proud of. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum, with A2 and AS levels alongside a growing Level 2 provision, which includes a BTEC Diploma in Public Services and resits.
We offer a number of enrichment activities and all students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of fund raising and enterprise activities. The school has been recognised as an Investor in People and we have been awarded a Sport England Sportsmark.
We provide all our students with career guidance and support and we have a well planned Higher Education programme. In 2009, our students progressed to Oxford (to read medicine) and Bristol as well as to many local universities. Many of our previous students return to help and support our current students.
Our Sixth Form Centre was purpose built and offers students the following:
- Specialist teaching rooms
- Excellent Information Technology facilities
- Connexions Careers Library
- Large Common Room with kitchen and tuck-shop
- A designated silent study room
Sixth Form students have access to additional facilities in the main school and are encouraged to use the library for private study.
All Sixth Form students are allocated to a tutor group. The Sixth Form Team provides support for the student during his or her time in the Sixth Form. Tutor Periods and Assemblies provide valuable contact time between the students and the Sixth Form Team.
Designated support periods are also factored into the timetable of each student to allow for academic mentoring or careers and higher education guidance as required.
All learning providers are required to take reasonable steps to cater for all learners. We have an Accessibility Plan under the Special Educational Needs and Disability Act aimed at continually improving accessibility to the curriculum, physical environment and written information. We also have a Disability Equality Strategy under the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act 2005.
Where Religious Education is taught, parents have a right to withdraw their child from Religious Education and acts of Collective Worship. For any specific queries please contact the schools direct.
