Welcome to Trinity Catholic School

Trinity is a community of Catholic faith and learning. We are committed to nurturing informed, fulfilled and socially responsible citizens.

I am honoured to be the leader of a creative, vibrant and aspirational school; a model for progressive Catholic education in the 21st century. Trinity is a place of equality, opportunity, inclusion and excellence, where every individual in the school is valued for their unique contribution to school life. We pride ourselves on the passion with which we celebrate our students' successes, and the dedication we bring to ensuring opportunities for achievement. We are particularly proud of our progressively improving results. Both 2012 GCSE and A Level results were records for the school. Walk the corridors of the school and you will find a team of committed faculties dedicated to providing students the best possible learning experience
e also have a range of beacon departments with excellent standards of teaching and learning. Our common goal is to accomplish what is in the best interest of the students academically and spiritually; to provide guidance to them to make a lasting contribution to the global community.

The mission of TrinityCatholic School draws together students, parents, faculty and our parishes to sustain this purpose. Our Catholic ethos is based on respect for students as human beings created in God's image.

Our parents value this emphasis in a world where, all too often, clear moral principles are no longer evident. Every decision that we make is informed by our vision - that in striving for excellence, we support Christ's mission. Central to our actions is awareness that our professionalism, dedication and expertise, offers a transformative opportunity to all of our students. We model for our community a commitment to excellence, aspiration, inclusion and redemption. As Principal of this tremendous school, I am committed to investing in the potential of all in our school community.
I thank you for your interest in Trinity Catholic School and I look forward to working with you.

From Chris Gabbett Principal

About us

We are a Technology and Arts college. These two specialisms form a mutually beneficial and highly creative partnership that has a positive impact across the curriculum. We also have a range of beacon departments with excellent standards of teaching and learning. We are holders of Artsmark Gold and have recently applied for renewal of this award.

Facilities available

We completed a muilti-million pound refurbishment and rebuilding project in 2005 which has provided us with state-of-the-art facilities, including a new dedicated Sixth Form Centre and common room. Other resources include:

  • Six ICT suites, media, music and drama studios
  • Library and a multi-media resource centre
  • A film and TV recording studio with control and recording rooms
  • A new technology centre with specialist 2D, 3D and digital arts studios and a well-equipped darkroom supporting A Level study.

Additional support

Teachers use a range of highly effective teaching strategies, which respond to the full range of students’ learning styles. At Trinity, learning is stimulating, challenging and fun! We aim to extend the curriculum to offer a range of vocational and traditional courses at Post 16.

All post-16 students have access to a well-equipped study centre. In the classroom, teaching and learning are personalised using Assessment for Learning techniques and the thinking skills employed in Leading in Learning, our whole-school project supported by the Secondary National Strategy. Teachers are available to offer individual support both within the classroom and by arrangement between lessons.

Careers advice and guidance is provided in a specialist centre. Facilities include a well-stocked careers library, an interview room and ICT resources to support career exploration.

Students also have the opportunity to attend retreats here they can receive help and guidance in developing their spiritual lives.
