Welcome to Morthyng Vocational College
Who are we?
We are Morthyng Vocational College (MVC) based in the town centre, close to the bus and rail stations.
What do we do?
We offer the Government’s education programme called ‘Study Programme’.
The Study Programme is flexible and allows you to learn at your own pace. You’ll have the chance to advance your Functional Skills in English and Mathematics. Should you wish, you will be able to increase your Personal, Social & Development skills to make the next step forward in your career.
How do we do it?
Put simply, we place you at the heart of your learning programme enabling you to take ownership and shape your training. With a high level of pastoral care, we’ll work alongside you to support you and give you the best possible chance to succeed.
We provide a variety of work-based learning placements with local & national employers to give you the chance to gain practical experience in your chosen preferred vocational area.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, we listen to your opinion and act upon it.
So what makes us different from everyone else?
We will cover all of your travel costs for the first two weeks with us, so joining MVC won’t cost you a penny.
Subject to correct attendance & behaviour, at Morthyng Vocational College, we guarantee that you will receive a minimum training allowance of £20.00 per week but could be up to £30 per week depending on personal circumstances.
As an organisation, Morthyng Vocational College has been supporting the needs of families from Rotherham and surrounding areas for the past 28 years.
We are proud to have been awarded the prestigious title of Training Provider of the Year at the most recent YTP awards ceremony.
In our most recent OFSTED Inspection report, Morthyng was graded overall as being a ‘Good’ college and ‘outstanding’ at safeguarding the needs of its learners.
