Welcome to St Edmund Campion Catholic School
A very warm welcome to our school website.
St Edmund Campion School was opened in 1975 as a Catholic Comprehensive School due to the amalgamation of St Agnes’ Grammar School, St Thomas of Canterbury School and St Margaret Clitherow School on two sites. In 2004 following a major building programme the school settled on its current site as a seven from entry mixed comprehensive school.
We are utterly committed to our Mission Statement ‘Achieving together through Christ’ with a strong ethos of valuing the individual together with care and respect for all members of our community within Christian values and the teachings of Jesus.
We have strong links with our feeder primary catholic and local community schools to ensure that there is a smooth transition between primary and secondary education which understandably can be very challenging for some students and parents.
We have just over 1000 students in the school including the Sixth Form. The school places great emphasis on academic excellence to ensure that students of all abilities and social backgrounds achieve their full potential and we regularly send students to Universities all over the country as well as placing great emphasis on personal development. The school has high expectations for all staff and is committed to providing outstanding teaching and learning. I feel that the key to the success of our school has been built on the hard work, dedication and commitment of all members of staff and students and the very strong parental support to order to ensure that together every student achieves more.
St Edmund Campion is a founder member of the Catholic Partnership in Birmingham, a member of the Teaching School Alliance (which is committed to providing outstanding teacher training and support) and part of the North Area Network. This ensures that we remain strong partners within the education community and helps to underpin our school desire to move forward on our journey to excellence for all.
Mrs P Steele
St. Edmund Campion School exists as part of a partnership with home, parish and school, which together educate and pass on the Faith to our children. We aim to assist parents in their God-given role as educators by providing a Catholic secondary education.
As a Catholic school, our aim is to develop a community which is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ and guided by the Holy Spirit. It is a community based on love, trust and respect, in which young people develop as fully integrated persons in Christ.
Together we strive for every member of our community to achieve their full potential, academically, personally and spiritually in the atmosphere of high quality personal relationships.
BASIC SCHOOL RULE
The basic rule is the fundamental commandment of Our Lord,
‘Love God and Love your Neighbour’
expressed in day to day action in school through the offering of our prayer and work to God and courtesy and consideration to others.
