Welcome to Yorkshire Coast College

Yorkshire Coast College offers a varied selection of Further Education and Higher Education provision and operates out of two campuses; Westwood Campus is home to the Creative School of Arts and the Underground Music Department. Westwood is based on Valley Bridge Parade in the centre of Scarborough and offers a wide range of creative courses that includes the renowned BA Fine Art andBA Historical and Performance Costume for Stage and Screen degree programmes.

The main campus is situated on Lady Edith's Drive. Some of the innovative courses on offer include the chance to study HNC Mechanical Engineering and the campus also boasts the Yorkshire Coast Business Solutions, a business support service offering innovative solutions for training in the region.

Both campuses offer excellent teaching coupled with first-rate, industry-standard workshops and training facilities.

If you want to go on to study at University, and need to have the experience to give you the edge over other candidates, YCC is the place for you. If you are eager to get started in the workplace, but want to continue studying to impress your employer, YCC is the place for you. Whichever path you choose to take, we'll ensure you are supported throughout your time with us; in whichever way you like to learn. We learn hands on skills in simulated working environments. Our teaching staff are industry professionals, ready to pass on thier expertise to you. They have great facilities in which to teach you, including industry standard catering kitchens, hairdressing and beauty therapy salons, motor vehicle workshops, state of the art engineering workshops, a modern sports hall and fitness suite, and creative spaces such as an 'in the round' theatre, art workshops and recording studios. At Yorkshire Coast College, we are proud to be able to offer learning to everyone, no matter what your background, circumstances, or the qualifications you currently have, we will try to find a suitable course to offer you.       Refectory and Square Cat Café

      Our refectory at Lady Edith's Drive is the perfect place to relax and unwind, whether you want a quick snack, a healthy lunch or just to catch up with friends. Breakfast is served every weekday from 8.30am until 11am, after this a huge choice foods are available including a range of premium sandwiches, pizzas, salads, paninis, and jacket potatoes. Our two campuses each have their own refectories. 

      The Square Cat Café at Westwood is a great place to catch-up with friends. We offer hot and cold drinks and snacks. From time-to-time you might even catch a live performance from performing arts students.

      Our Learner Engagement Team also provide other activities across both sites throughout the year.

      Common Room

      The learner common room on Lady Edith's Campus is located on the ground floor and near the LRC. Here you can relax with your friends and play a game or pool and our Learner Engagement team are always on hand to help you or provide information on a range of activities they are organising. 

      Learning Resource Centre

      We have two interactive Learning Resource Centres across Yorkshire Coast College providing lending, reference and information services and offering you the chance to utilise the latest technologies and study aids. Our Learning Centres are also linked to the British Library, meaning no matter what you need, you will always have access to it. 

      ICT, Moodle & Wifi

      Yorkshire Coast College has a great range of academic facilities for both students and staff. Feel free to check books out from our libraries and use our professional printing services amongst our many other facilities at Yorkshire Coast College.

      Computing Services

Yorkshire Coast College can give you everything you need to play your part in the modern world, and have a brilliant career, working at the forefront of technology. 

      Our ICT suites and ultra-modern facilities mean that your training and studies will see you networking computer systems, designing databases, manipulating graphics and images and learning more about hardware principles and user support. Both practical and theoretical study will play a major part in your course giving you a wide range of skills and knowledge, while working with the latest technologies.

      Printing Services

      Our Repro facility offers both students and the general public, first class business stationery, educational printing as well as a host of photographic and print finishing services, including both black and white and full colour prints.
