Welcome to Broadway Academy

Broadway is a very successful Academy with an inclusive ‘can do’ attitude which supports all young people in achieving their ambitions. This is captured in our motto: “Our Children, Our Community, Believe it can be done!”

Whilst we want our Sixth Formers to succeed, we also want them to be happy, to thrive, to enjoy coming to Sixth Form and to participate fully in all that we have to offer, both in lessons and in the wider curriculum.

Our Academy, in partnership with parents, the wider community, local businesses and renowned Uinversities, develops rounded, responsible, caring young adults who contribute to the society that they live in.

About us

Our Sixth Form is an important part of the Academy community. We are delighted that so many Broadway students choose to join us after year 11 but we are equally as proud to welcome many students joining us from schools across the city.

With 180 students on role, we are able to offer an extensive Level 3 curriculum (A Levels and Level 3 BTECs) whilst maintaining smaller group sizes. This benefits the individual, ensuring all of our students recieve the guidance and support needed to achieve, and in many cases exceed, their targets. We have an outstanding team of Sixth Form teachers and tutors who have huge experience in teaching their subjects coupled with a desire to help the students be the best that they can be.

The majority of last years cohort went on to secure University placements both locally and further afield. Those choosing not to go tho University were supported as they secured employment or apprenticeship placements.

Facilities available

Broadway Academy has undergone a huge redevelopment in recent years and we are very pround of our £21million state of the art new building.

Sixth Form lessons take place throughout the Academy and it is great to see Sixth Form students acting as such wonderful role models for the students in the younger year groups.

Sixth Form students have a designated Common Room and Senior Study Area where they are able to focus on their Independent study. They also have free access to the LRC to study in silence.

Additional support

A dedicated Sixth Form team is always on hand to support students with their day to day experience in the Sixth Form and ensure any support or concerns are quickly dealt with.

The school has a fantastic Careers service which fully supports our students as they explore opportunities in the world of work. We also benefit from a wellbeing Mentor who is able to help students should they be finding the challenge of Level 3 courses difficult.

Students are well supported with their applications to University, apprenticeships and as they enter the world of employment.

Learner success

Last year our students results were in the top 25% of the country for AS and top 10% for BTEC. Students were abl to achieve grades that got them into Aston, University of London and other local universities in the West Midlands.
