Welcome to Holte School
Welcome to Holte School. If there is anything further you would like to know please do not hesitate to contact us, as we believe strongly in open communication. At Holte we care deeply for our pupils, our primary concern is their safety and well-being. The pupils are the focus of all our efforts. Parents and carers should know that we value each child equally. We constantly work to ensure that pupil motivation is maintained at all times. We require pupils to promote the school through excellent attendance, punctuality, behaviour and smart uniform.
By working hard together to achieve targets that stretch them, our pupils are able to realise outstanding goals. Through encouraging one another the school has developed an ethos which builds success. The community we serve is blessed with a rich diversity of languages, cultures and faiths. It is a credit to the school that, together, we learn how to embrace and respect each others’ identity. Above all we are a community school developing our learning programmes to meet the needs of all pupils. We recognise that we are preparing our pupils for the world of further study, employment and adulthood.
Achievement at Holte is broad. Whether through our extensive arts or sports programmes we expect all pupils to contribute to the wider life of the school. We aim to equip our pupils to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing society, aware of the opportunities available to them.
Building on our tremendous success at Key Stage 4 we are able to offer our pupils the opportunity to continue their studies at Holte. Not only can we offer excellent teaching but also the opportunity to become involved in a wide range of extracurricular activities.
We regard Sixth Formers as role models for younger members of the school and are keen for them to be involved in the wider aspects of school life. They contribute significantly to many activities including Music, Drama and Sport and are entrusted with responsibilities such as mentoring, translating, with pupils selected as Senior Prefects, Head Boy and Head Girl.
We will provide an induction programme to settle students in quickly. Holte regularly monitor academic progress and work closely together to ensure that all students achieve their full potential.
Every student will be assigned to a form of around fifteen students. Wherever possible students will remain with the same tutor for the duration of the two years. Students have some choice of which friends they may want to be with. Guidance will be given through a Citizenship Programme on issues that are important to our students. These include advice on careers advice, higher education and welfare issues.
We provide a high level of guidance and support for students as they prepare for life after Holte, whether this is going into higher education or embarking on a career. Each year a large proportion of our Year 13 students progress to the University of their choice.
