Welcome to King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Boys
The original school opened at Camp Hill, close to the city centre, in 1883 and moved to Kings Heath in 1956 because the original site was proving too small for a growing school. Now, Camp Hill Boys shares a beautiful campus with our sister school and can genuinely claim to be one of the highest achieving and best equipped schools in the country.
We are a relatively small community of 720 boys, who get on well together. The boys are inspired by their excellent, well qualified teachers and are supported by parents, Governors and Old Boys. As a result Camp Hill Boys features prominently in national
league tables for examination results and value added statistics which measure the attainment and progress of the boys. However, for most of the boys, most of the time, priorities usually lie elsewhere - in sport, music, drama, chess and the breathtaking range
of activities and opportunities available at Camp Hill.
This is what Camp Hill Boys is all about - come and join us...

The school is something of an oasis in the city, located in beautiful grounds shared with our sister school, surrounded by playing fields on the site of the historic Cartland estate. Not only does this mean that all our pupils have access to fantastic locations
on which to practice their spin bowling, or their scrum technique, but with the addition of the Sports Hall (opened 2007), a brand new library, a new English Department, new laboratories, a lecture theatre, a brand-new student-designed drama technical system
and so much more to the school, the boys are in the best location in the region to learn new skills, develop their abilities, and explore new activities.
There's also a clear sense of competition amongst our pupils, but this isn't the result of the teachers' expectations. In fact, students are encouraged by everyone around them to try their best and to develop their interests, and with such a gifted cohort entering the school every year it's no surprise that each pupil is motivated by their peers to succeed. At the same time, however, the school values the individual progress of each student very highly, and so boys are rewarded for their efforts through our innovative report system and presentation evenings, where we aim to recognise the contribution of every member of the school.
